Local Communities
We have an extremely close relationship with the communities surrounding our villages. We provide employment and aim to source services and products locally. We believe that our overall impact on the local area is positive – and we want to keep it this way.
We’re significant local employers with each village employing in excess of 1500 staff. We also support our local staff by running a commuter bus service at all of our sites. The service is used by over 2000 employees, which includes 50% of our cleaning staff. As well as offering a low-cost cost and energy efficient transport method it reduces congestion on the local roads.
Supporting the local community, we source local services and produce where ever possible and going one step further, we are committed to making a difference in these communities too. Since 2010 our volunteer programme has enabled our staff to spend a working day on a local community project.
We also deliver a number of initiatives that benefit our local communities. Our villages support local schools through donations, work experience and skills development. In addition to this our employees donated more than £11,000 last year to local charities through our employee payroll fund.
