Center Parcs Elveden Forest was the venue chosen for 250 delegates from a leading FTSE 100 company. The 3 day event was held to celebrate the success and achievements of 2010 and to set objectives for the forthcoming years.
During the 3 days delegates visited The Venue (a purpose built conference centre) for a number of conferences and presentations. Group plenary sessions were held in the outdoors in a specially erected marquee.
Colleagues resided within the well appointed Woodland and Executive Lodges. To give the event an extra twist the client opted for breakfast packs to be delivered to the accommodation daily. This meant that delegates were able to prepare either a continental or full English breakfast within their accommodation prior to starting the day. This choice was deliberately made to further enhance team bonding outside of the normal work place. It proved to be a great hit and somewhat of a novelty for attendees.
Guests enjoyed a number of dining experiences from an exclusive Indian themed lunch in Rajinda Pradesh restaurant, packed lunches in the forest, a themed beach BBQ and a “dine around” with a choice of American, French, Bistro fayre or even a takeaway delivery to the delegates lodge!
A themed beach barbecue represented the highlight of the evening festivities. The beach was hired exclusively for the party along with a whole host of treats for guests to enjoy. A Caribbean atmosphere was created with a steel band, surf shack style cocktail bar complete with mesmerising surf dude cocktail flairers. Whilst some enjoyed the cocktails others exerted themselves a little more and got involved in a beach volley ball competition or left the beach and took to the water in pedalos, rowing boats or Kata canoes. Guests then danced the night away to a Beach Boys tribute band.
Other highlights included an activity afternoon where delegates took part in tree trekking, cable water skiing, laser combat and target archery. As well as surprise appearances from Ricky Jervais, Barack Obama and Fabio Capello (sadly not the real ones, but very authentic look-alikes).
Center Parcs worked in partnership with the clients’ event management agency Zibrant, widely recognised as one of the UK’s top agencies.
Head of Events for the company commented "Our conference at Center Parcs ticked all the boxes. It gave us a venue where our delegates could have energetic business discussions in excellent conference facilities, but where teambuilding could also take place, almost without people realising, such as at breakfast, or getting from session to session on their bikes. The feedback we've received since the event has been fantastic, with colleagues rejuvenated for the challenges ahead."
