New – Cable Water Ski
A hit with everyone who gives it a go, Elveden Forest’s new Cable Water Ski activity is a thrilling way to try waterskiing, wakeboarding or kneeboarding.
Whizzing along the water, with this exhilarating new activity, you can get the feel for the water easily, without having to rely on a boat to pick up the speed you need to get going.

This fantastic experience includes instruction from British Water Ski Federation Licensed Cable Operators.
Elveden’s Cable Tow includes a Rixen Easy Start pull, ideal for any beginner wanting to learn Knee boarding, Wakeboarding and Skis, before moving onto the main Cable ideal for more experienced riders.
A typical beginner session consists of the following:
- Arrive at the Boathouse 15 minutes before session start time.
- Size up and change into Wetsuits and Boots
- Walk from the Boathouse to the Cable Start Platform.
- Meet the session instructors for a safety briefing and issuing of Helmets and Buoyancy aids.
- Instruction on ‘How to use a Kneeboard’ in order to corner and complete a full lap of the course (beginners only)
- Advance to next desired element (Wakeboard or Skis, or both if you have time.)

A 90 minute session costs £30.
A 2 hour session costs £40.
Price includes use of a wetsuit, wet boots, helmet, buoyancy aid, kneeboards, wakeboards and skis.

1. Will I get wet?
Yes, so bring your swimwear.
2. Will I get round easily?
This answer depends on your own ability, but most people will do several full laps within 60 minutes.
3. How many laps will I get to do?
Dependant on how well you ride and if you stay on the board/skis, you will get more laps completed.
4. How long does a lap take?
Approximately 50 seconds.
5. How fast will we go?
Between 26-28 kmh or 15-17mph.
6. What happens if I fall off?
There are several exits positioned around the lake which you swim to and then exit.
7. What if I am injured?
If you are unable to swim to an exit, there is a dedicated rescue boat on hand to recover a rider. Staffs are first aid qualified.
8. How do I get back to the start?
After swimming to an exit, you walk back to the start.
