A Walk With Trees
Throughout history, the woodland landscape of England has been continually changing. As well as native trees, many varieties have been introduced from around the world. On this fascinating walk through our large woodland, Forest Rangers will teach you how to identify various trees and tell you about their history.
Abseiling
Falling to earth is such an exhilarating feeling and in this beginner's abseiling session you'll learn all the necessary rope skills to be able to climb our 13 metre tower and control your descent back down to the bottom.
Adventure Golf
Merrie men, women and children wanted for adventure on our two 9-hole courses - Castle Hill and The Greenwoods. Avoid the obstacles as you head for the Castle and King's treasure chest where your ball will vanish forever!
Archery-Field
Imagine yourself as one of Robin's outlaws, creeping through the forest, spotting and firing at targets as you go. Our field archery course combines archery skills with the thrill of the chase, so it's an exciting way to practice your techniques.
Archery - Target
At our purpose built Archery Centre, you stand in covered bays and fire at our targets, trying to hit the red centre. You score points depending on where you hit the target, which we'll move further back as you progress so you can refine your aim.
Ariel Adventure
A thrilling combination of Tree Trekking and Zip Wire for the serious adrenaline junkie. Once you've conquered our Challenge Course and successfully negotiated the Postman's Walk, Giant Spider's Web and Indiana Bridge, the 25 metre Burma Bridge leads you 12 metres up into the tree canopy to our Zip Wire finale. Once attached, you'll fly 80 metres through the trees, rushing over water below, then abseil to the ground. It's an amazing experience you won't forget in a hurry.
Canoe Tuition
In our stable, open canoe, you'll learn to manoeuvre, paddle and capsize to build your skills and confidence.
Challenge Course
Your team will rely on each other to achieve the challenges set by this demanding low ropes course, which include the Spider's Web, Chasm Crossing, Balance Beam and aptly named Heebie Jeebie, and you're sure to have a laugh together along the way. It may take place closer to the ground, but it's still not for the faint hearted!
Climbing
Our 9 metre climbing wall has been cleverly designed with routes for beginners that will familiarise them with climbing techniques and skills, and more demanding options to challenge experienced climbers. The session starts with tuition and a safety briefing from an experienced instructor, then it's time to head skywards.
Cyber Toonies
Ever wondered how cartoons are made? Not only can you discover the secrets of how it's done – you can create your own animation in minutes. Start by creating your very own storyboard then our instructor will guide you through creating a full animated production complete with sound effects.
Falconry
Seeing a majestic falcon fly from your gloved hand and return with effortless grace is a breathtaking experience you won't forget in a hurry. After an introduction to the medieval art of falconry at our wildlife hide, you can feel the thrill of flying one of these powerful birds of prey for yourself.
Creepy Crawlies
Hidden away under logs and bark live all kinds of facinating mini beasts. On a mini safari led by a Conservation Ranger, we take a look through magnifying glasses and microscopes to find out more about this minature world.
Family Bird Watching Walk
Learn how to identify many of our feathered friends by sound as well as by sight as you take a bird's eye view of the forest with one of our Conservation Rangers.
Foil Fencing
In this lively introduction to the ancient and dramatic sport of fencing, our instructors will give you background information and take you through the basic moves, such as the 'on guard' position, the lunge and the parry. Then, equipped with a helmet and foil, a traditional duelling sword, you can practice with a partner. Touché!
Gladiator Challenge
A cunning collection of tyres, logs and nets set to seriously test your skills and aptitude.
High Ropes
A cunning collection of poles, ropes and beams form a daring course of action, set out to include the 'Multi Vine', 'Balancing Beams', the 'Inclined Log', Leap of Faith and 'High All Abroad'.
Horse Riding Lessons - Group
A lesson that is taken using the indoor teaching facility suitable for non-riders and beginners.
Indoor Climbing Wall
Tackle our 20ft Indoor Climbing Wall as you are harnessed and guided by our trained instructors. With four different faces each increasing in difficulty it is sure to challenge even the most agile of climbers.
Kayak Tuition
This course offers basic instruction in kayaking skills.
Laser Clay Shoot Out
Take aim with our state-of-the-art, laser-adapted rifle and see how many clays you can hit as they speed through the air, traveklling at up to 65mph. We'll keep score electronically to add a competitive edge to this thrilling shoot out.
Laser Combat
A family paintball adventure without the paint! Armed with the state-ot-the-art laser guns, you and your team sneak through the forest, manoeuvering around barricades to beat your rivals and solve the Ranger Mission.
Paintball in the Woodland
Have a splattering time in the heart of Sherwood Forest! This paintball experience is great fun for groups of adults or families and gives a real adrenaline surge.
Quad Bike Woodland Safari
An exclusive opportunity to Quad Bike Safari in the heart of Sherwood Forest with a practice warm up, followed by two treks through dense woodland.
Rangers Ramble
An easy stroll around the village nature trails in the company of a Conservation ranger, who'll point out the forest's many secrets, from rare plants to what our squirrels eat for lunch.
R U a D J?
Using samples from New York's DJ Leeny D and Amsterdam's DJ Dimitri, along with the latest software, up and coming DJs can mix their own single in any music style, from hip hop to drum'n'bass, and create a video to go with it. We'll burn the track onto a CD to play on a PC at home or school.
Sailing Tuition
The sport of sailing is popular with the whole family. This course offers basic tuition in sailing skills.
Scuba Diving
Learning to scuba dive can open up a new and exciting world of underwater adventure for your next foreign holiday and you can learn all the skills in a safe, monitored environment at Center Parcs. By completing a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Open Water Diver Course you will be qualified to dive anywhere in the world. We run a 2 part course that earns you a PADI Discover Scuba certificate and counts towards the final qualification.
Part 1
An introduction to diving which gives a good taster of basic diving skills, buoyancy control, breathing underwater, airway control, swimming underwater and diving equipment.
Part 2
A more in-depth and intensive session focussing on how to look after yourself under water, including regulatory recovery, partial mask flooding and alternative air source in an 'out of air' situation.
Soccer Academy
A vigorous, professional coaching course to improve ball skills and team play. Prizes for best player, most improved player, penalty competition winner. Certificates awarded at end of course.
Snorkelling
We can't provide the reef fish, but our experienced tutors can teach you all the techniques you need to explore sea life on your next trip abroad. Please arrive 20 minutes before the session and bring your completed medical form (issued on arrival at the village).
Survival Special
Could you survive if you were abandoned in the middle of a forest - with no tent and just a few basic rations? Go for it! A map reading exercise will get you to your secret location, where you'll learn to build a shelter.
Tree Trekking
You are connected into the Expo Glider safety harness system whilst you tackle our Aerial Adventure course, experiencing the many individual challenges from the Postman's Walk, Burma Bridge, Hanging Platforms and Indiana Bridge to make the exhilarating 13 metres Power Fan finale where you will make a quick and controlled descent to the ground.
Windsurfing Tuition
The sport of Windsurfing is the highlight of the extreme games category. Come and learn the basic skills. Arrangements may be made for intermediate lessons.
Woodland Awakening
Work up an appetite by exploring the forest in the morning. One things for sure - you're bound to to enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
Virtual Fashion
The face of fashion! Each designer has their picture taken on a digital camera, then you use computer software to create a funky design or turn yourself into an alien or popstar. We'll print your finished creation onto a t-shirt, so get ready to become a fashion icon!
Zip Wire
This is the ultimate rush! Climb to the top of our 13-metre tower (via ladders) where you will be attached to the wire. Then fly through the trees and abseil to the ground.
