Safety, accessibility and swim essentials

Free buoyancy aids

You can borrow buoyancy aids for babies and toddlers free of charge. These are located around the pool, including by the entrance.

Changing facilities

You’ll find individual and family changing cubicles, nappy changing facilities, and Changing Places facilities for guests with additional needs. Your wristband acts as your locker key.

You can buy swim nappies, inflatables and goggles at the Pool Information Desk. You can also hire towels here.

Accessibility

To make Center Parcs accessible for all, we’ve introduced Changing Places facilities in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise at Sherwood, Whinfell, Elveden, and Woburn Forest. These include a mobile shower changer, hoist, wash basin, and toilet with grab rails

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own inflatables, or you can purchase them from Aquatique or the Pool Desk.

There is no need to book! You can visit the Subtropical Swimming Paradise as many times as you like, everyday from 9am - 8pm, or 11am - 7pm on Christmas Day.

The Subtropical Swimming Paradise is open daily from 9am - 8pm and from 11am - 7pm on Christmas Day. We also offer a quiet hour at 9am on Wednesdays and Sundays, which offers a peaceful, relaxed swimming experience.

For comfort in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, we ask that guests wear swimwear in the pool areas.

In exceptional circumstances (e.g., disabled or elderly guests), full dress is permitted.

Guests not wishing to swim can wear beachwear, such as t-shirts and shorts.

Burkas/burkinis are allowed; however, for health and safety reasons, anyone wearing a burka will not be able to use the slides or Lazy River.

Pool footwear is permitted.

We have made careful decisions to make sure every guest can enjoy the Subtropical Swimming Paradise - you will find:

  • Large changing cubicles and adapted changing facilities for guests who need to lie down including hoist, shower and toilet
  • Accessible toilets and communal showers
  • Large lockers at various heights. For any larger items such as prosthetics please speak to a member of staff
  • Mirrors and hair drying facilities suitable for wheelchair height
  • Ramps which link to different areas. Some rides and slides are accessed via steps. Please visit our maps for more information on each village set up
  • A portable hoist and transit chair, suitable for entry into water is available on request.
  • An induction loop for guests with hearing impairments is available from the pool Information Desk
  • Seating is available around the Subtropical Swimming Paradise

 

Yes, our Subtropical Swimming Paradise is open all year round. The outdoor pools will only close during electrical storms.

Yes, towels can also be hired for a £2.50 fee.

Yes, every Suptropical Swimming Paradise includes a children's water play area.

Yes, all Suptropical Swimming Paradise include an outdoor pool.

Tropical Cyclone, Twister and Typhoon all have a height restriction of 1.22m

Weight limits to Tropical Cyclone and Typhoon at Woburn Forest and Elveden have a 50 stone maximum with 17.5 stone per single rider limit

At Longleat and Sherwood the Tropical Cyclone has a 50 stone (317 kg) weight limit; a minimum of 2 riders over the age of 8 years and over the height restriction or, a maximum of 3 adults and one small child again over the age of 8 years and height restriction, (1.22m)

At Whinfell Forest the Tropical Cyclone weight limit is 320kg 50.4 stone, with a minimum of two riders.

The Typhoon has a maximum weight limit of 36 stone (228 kg); a single rider over the age of 16 years or a maximum of 2 riders over the age of 8 years and over the height restriction (1.22m)

The Cyclone at Longford Forest has a maximum raft weight of 50 stones with 18.9 stones per single rider and 1.22m height restriction. The Typhoon Maximum weight of 28 stones with 18.1 stones per single rider and a 1.22 height restriction. The Twister has a maximum weight per rider of 21 stones and a 1m height restriction.

Children over 8 years old can use the Subtropical Swimming Paradise unsupervised. Children between 4 years old and 7 years old must have at least one adult supervision per two children. Children 4 years old and under must have one adult per child.
