Outdoor Activity Centre (OAC)

Target Archery & Archery Adventure

The Target Archery area is located at the Outdoor Activity Centre (OAC). It is be reached by roadway up a steep inclined hill. From the OAC building, the final part of the journey is along a well paved path. It takes a three minute walk to get to the archery area from the OAC.

This activity is suitable for guests using wheelchairs. Arrangements can be made to provide transport to and from the site using the on village mobility vehicle service. It is recommended that this be arranged at the time of booking the activity.

This activity would not be suitable for persons with no or very limited sight. Guests with partial sight can participate in this activity with verbal instruction and physical assistance from the Instructor or a member of the guest’s party.

To take part in this activity it is important that all participants can follow and abide by the instructions given by the tutor.

The nearest accessible toilets are in the OAC building (3 minute walk away).

There is a spectator viewing area, which consists of a covered bench/seat area.

The activity involves shooting at the targets and trying to hit the yellow centre. Score points depending on where you hit the target.

Field Archery

Located slightly up the hill from the main building.

Due to the uneven playing field, this activity may not be suitable for all guests, our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone or email prior to your visit or on site during your stay.

Robin Hood and Little John Archery

Little John archery is located directly opposite the OAC building entrance.

There is a well paved path going towards it and a big door that opens out wide to allow easy access for guests who use a wheelchair. There is one step to the activity but a ramp is available. 

This activity would not be suitable for persons with no or very limited sight. Guests with partial sight can participate in this activity with verbal instruction and physical assistance from the Instructor or a member of the guest’s party.

To take part in this activity it is important that all participants can follow and abide by the instructions given by the tutor.

Golf Driving Range

The Golf Driving Range is next to the target archery. From the main OAC building, it takes a few minutes to walk down a well paved path to where the range is located down a slight decline.

Four of bays are on ground level but the tees are situated on a 3 inch mat surface. Other bays are up steps or on a grassy bank. 

Mobility scooter users will find it easy to access this area.

There is bench seating at the rear of the building.

The nearest accessible toilet is in the OAC main building.

Laser Clay Shooting

The Laser Clay area is located up at the Outdoor Activity Centre (OAC). It can be reached by roadway up a steep inclined hill. From the OAC building the final part of the journey is along a well paved path. It takes a three minute walk to get to the laser clay area from the OAC.

This activity is suitable for guests using wheelchairs. Arrangements can be made to provide transport to and from the site using the on village mobility vehicle service. It is recommended that this be arranged at the time of booking the activity.

Laser Combat

Located slightly up the hill from the main building.

Paintballing

Activity is suitable for majority of guests with additional needs, however, the full use of arms and legs are required, and the ability to follow instruction.

This activity would not be suitable for persons with no or very limited sight. Guests with partial sight can participate in this activity with verbal instruction and physical assistance from the Instructor or a member of the guest’s party.

Guests with hearing difficulties are able to take part but must be able to follow instruction.

Access to the area in a wheelchair is difficult with a steep inclined hill and gravel path up at the paintball area. Please contact the Guest Care line to discuss particular requirements prior to booking this activity in order that we are able to provide appropriate assistance or adaptations where we are able.

Quad Bike Safari 

Activity is suitable for some guests with additional needs, however, full use of arm(s) and thumbs and stomach muscles (in order to sit up right) are required along with the ability to follow instruction. Direct Supervision from an instructor will be needed for guest to go around bends etc. (minimum notice required: 2 weeks)

Junior Quads

Activity is suitable for some guests with additional needs, however, full use of arm(s) and thumbs and stomach muscles (in order to sit up right) are required along with the ability to follow instruction. Direct Supervision from an instructor will be needed. (minimum notice required: 2 weeks)

Off Road Explorers

Activity is suitable for guests with special needs, however children must be able to sit up unsupported in the vehicle, be able to steer and have the ability to follow instruction. An accompanying adult is required to walk around the track with the child.

Segway Experience

Segway experience involves riding a Segway around a designated practice track and then onto an off-road section, including obstacles. Being able to distribute your weight by leaning backwards and forward is necessary. The ability to stand for a moderately long period of time is required which is approx. 45 minutes.

This activity may be challenging for those with limited mobility or with impaired sight.

It is important all participants can follow and abide by instructions. This activity has strict safety requirements which staff must follow for Health & Safety reasons. Our staff will be happy to discuss individual requirements either by phone/email prior to your visit or on site during your stay.

Outdoor Activity Centre Accessible Toilets

An accessible toilet and shower are located in the main Outdoor Activity Centre building.

Mobility Service

A mobility service is available to access the Outdoor Activity Centre for wheelchair users and ambulant guests who have difficulty walking substantial distances.

Please note that due to space constraints, only one person and two others can be carried in the vehicle.
