We know that every guest experiences the world differently, and for some, having access to the right sensory resources can make all the difference to feeling comfortable and being able to enjoy everything our villages have to offer.

That's why we've introduced our Sensory Library, developed with expert guidance from SENNIES, which is available free of charge to all guests staying at Elveden Forest. Located in Guest Services, the Sensory Library offers a range of sensory resources and practical equipment that can be borrowed throughout your stay on a first come, first served basis.

How do I borrow Sensory Library items?

You can visit the Sensory Library in Guest Services at any point during your stay at Elveden Forest. Our team will be happy to explain the resources available and recommend suitable items based on your needs, subject to availability.

Items can be borrowed throughout your stay and should be returned to Guest Services on your departure day.

Can I reserve Sensory Library items before my stay?

Sensory Library items cannot currently be reserved before your stay. Items can be borrowed when you arrive at Elveden Forest by visiting Guest Services and are available throughout your stay, subject to availability.

We hope to introduce the option to reserve items before your stay in the future.

What happens if a Sensory Library item is lost or damaged?

We understand that accidents can happen, and we want guests to feel comfortable using the Sensory Library. If an item is lost or damaged during your stay, please let a member of the Guest Services team know as soon as possible.

In line with our usual policy, guests may be charged for lost or damaged items. Before borrowing an item, our team can explain any applicable charges and help you choose resources that are suitable for your circumstances.

We are continuing to review how the Sensory Library works in practice and will consider how we can make the borrowing process as supportive and accessible as possible for all guests.

How long can I keep Sensory Library items?

You can keep Sensory Library items for the duration of your stay at Elveden Forest.

How do I return Sensory Library items?

You can return Sensory Library items to Guest Services on your departure day after enjoying them throughout your stay.

Every Sensory Library item is carefully checked, cleaned and prepared before being loaned to another guest.

What happens if a Sensory Library item is unavailable?

If a Sensory Library item is unavailable, our team will recommend a suitable alternative wherever possible, subject to availability.

Are Sensory Library items cleaned?

Yes, Sensory Library items are thoroughly checked and cleaned before being loaned to another guest. Every reusable item is prepared carefully to ensure it is ready for the next guest.

Can adults use the Sensory Library?

Yes, adults can use the Sensory Library. The Sensory Library has been designed to support guests of all ages and a range of sensory needs. You do not need a diagnosis or medical evidence to borrow items.

Who advised on the design of the Sensory Library and the items in it?

The Sensory Library was developed with expert guidance from SENNIES, the UK's first specialist SEN childcare, training and consultancy agency. SENNIES advised on the selection of sensory items and on the information and guidance provided to families.

SENNIES was founded by Georgia Sargeant, who set the agency up in 2019 to connect families with specialist SEN nannies and specialists. SENNIES now also delivers neuroinclusion training and consultancy to businesses, schools and local authorities across the UK, with a particular focus on making travel and leisure genuinely inclusive.

Is the Sensory Library available at every Center Parcs village?

The Sensory Library is currently being introduced at Elveden Forest as part of a pilot. We hope to roll the Sensory Library out more widely across our villages in the future.
