At Center Parcs, we assess the weather forecast daily to help us plan for the safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams. As we’re in a live forest environment, it's important that we take extra care during periods of hot, dry weather to help keep our villages, guests and teams safe.
Following an extended period of dry weather, the Natural England Fire Severity Index indicates a heightened risk of wildfire for this area. Please adhere to the following guidance:
- The use of BBQ’s is currently not permitted anywhere on the Village due to the increased risk of wildfire.
- The use of log burners and fireplaces are currently not permitted due to the increased risk of wildfire.
- Smoking is only permitted in designated locations around the Village and on the patio of your accommodation.
- Always extinguish cigarettes fully and dispose of them safely in an ashtray or sand bin.
- Open fires of any kind are strictly prohibited. This includes chimineas, fire pits or any other type of outdoor heating device. The making of fires on accommodation patios or any other areas is not permitted.

Please be assured that we do conduct regular fire safety checks, but we ask that you remain vigilant and kindly help us to maintain a safe environment.
Activities, pools and restaurants
We know how much our guests enjoy making the most of the outdoors, pool areas and restaurants in warm weather. However, in extreme temperatures, some activities may be cancelled or pool areas may operate differently if conditions are considered unsafe.
Restaurant opening times or menus may also need to change, as kitchens can become very warm.
We’ll assess conditions at each village individually and keep you informed of any changes that affect your stay.
Help protect our wildlife
Warm weather can also be challenging for wildlife. Please help by:
- Giving wildlife space and observing from a distance
- Keeping food waste inside your lodge
- Disposing of litter responsibly
- Not feeding wildlife, particularly from lodge patios, as this can discourage animals from seeking cooler areas, shade and water during hot weather
You may notice lower lake levels or natural algae during hot weather. Our teams continue to monitor our lakes, wildlife and habitats to help protect the natural environment.
If you see a young or injured animal, please don't attempt to move or rescue it yourself. Young animals may not be abandoned, and behaviours such as limping or panting can be normal in hot weather.
